Birmingham
Lacrosse Club (BLC) was formed in the 1930’s,
and has gone from strength to strength to
the present day.
In the 1950’s and 1960’s BLC
played fixtures against Clubs and Physical
Education Colleges with a speciality for
lacrosse. These Clubs included Anstey P.E.
College, Bedford P.E. College, Tamworth
& Nuneaton Clubs, Studley College, Worcester
Club, Malvern Club and Nottingham Club.
Present day Birmingham Lacrosse now has a Men's Lacrosse Team, Women's Lacrosse Team and a Junior Lacrosse Team.
The women's team are a member of the Northern League playing fixtures against Sheffield, Leeds, Liverpool, Stockport, etc. They continue to play
regular matches against Midland’s
schools, universities and clubs. The season
culminates in the English Lacrosse Association
Clubs and Colleges Tournament in March.
BLC won the First Team Trophy in 2001, and
the Second Team Trophy (jointly with Nottingham
Club) in 2006.
The men's team are a member of the North of England Men's Premier League and play teams such as Leeds, Stockport, Oldham.
The Club welcomes players of all ages and
abilities for training, matches and social
events. The Club hosts training weekends
for the Midlands Territorial Teams which
Club members have the opportunity to trial
for, who then feed into the National Teams.
